Hunger
Our hunger missions offer individual opportunities for fulfilling involvement. Beyond financial support for selected food pantries, substantial amounts of food are provided to alleviate hunger.
Ladue Chapel Food Bank
Dedicated volunteer drivers from Ladue Chapel rise early in the morning several times each week. They pick up fresh produce and bread from local food stores and restaurants and drive it to the Service Building (aka the “White House”) in the northwest corner of Ladue Chapel’s parking lot, where it is sorted and repackaged by another cadre of volunteers for pick up by food pantries from the city. Last year over 275,000 pounds of food were distributed! Drivers are needed for this very rewarding effort. This is an ideal volunteer opportunity for anyone who can drive a route before going to work or for young retirees from ages 55 - 70. Food bank volunteers can view this month's schedule here.
The St. Patrick Casserole Program
Every month, each member in this program provides a casserole for the St. Patrick Center. The Center is an important resource for residents of public housing, the aged and the homeless in near north St. Louis City. We appreciate our dedicated group of casserole makers!
