Our Mission

Hunger

Our hunger missions offer individual opportunities for fulfilling involvement. Beyond financial support for selected food pantries, substantial amounts of food are provided to alleviate hunger.

Help Us Feed the Hungry

Ladue Chapel’s first food packing event on Sunday, January 29, was very successful with 10,584 meals packed in less than three hours!  Pretty good work for a first effort.  We made macaroni and cheese, and these meals were made completely nutritious with the addition of soy protein and vitamins.  Over 100 volunteers of all ages pitched in – even the ‘little’ kids did their share by coloring the packing boxes!

Our efforts supported the local agencies our Ladue Chapel Food Bank serves, including Isaiah 58, Chapel for the Exceptional and Hosea House.

We plan to make this an ongoing mission and host several events during the year.

Our next event is scheduled for:

Sunday, April 29

Won’t you help?  All it takes is a little of your time.

Annual CROP Hunger Walk
Family and friends gather together with others from church and the St. Louis community for the annual  CROP Hunger Walk.  This is a great family event for all ages.  Registration is from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m.  Teams begin walking when ready.   Contact the church office (314-993-4771, ext. 0 or mail@laduechapel.org) for more information about our next walk.

Ladue Chapel Food Bank
Dedicated volunteer drivers from Ladue Chapel rise early in the morning several times each week. They pick up fresh produce and bread from local food stores and restaurants and drive it to the Service Building (aka the “White House”) in the northwest corner  of Ladue Chapel’s parking lot, where it is sorted and repackaged by another cadre of volunteers for pick up by food pantries from the city. Last year over 275,000 pounds of food were distributed! Drivers are needed for this very rewarding effort. This is an ideal volunteer opportunity for anyone who can drive a route before going to work or for young retirees from ages 55 – 70.

The St. Patrick Casserole Program
Every month, each member in this program provides a casserole for the St. Patrick Center. The Center is an important resource for residents of public housing, the aged and the homeless in near north St. Louis City.  We appreciate our dedicated group of casserole makers!  St Patrick Casserole Recipe
