At Ladue Chapel we consider Adult Education a central part of our mission and seek to provide serious, meaningful learning opportunities. Courses are meant to be challenging and faith renewing — even life changing. As a faith community, we are committed to a lifelong journey for growth, challenge, change and faithfulness. Sunday Adult Education classes run from September through June of each year (we take a vacation in July and August).
The Adult Education program at Ladue Chapel Presbyterian Church continues a long tradition of supplementing Sunday morning worship with one-hour lecture and discussion classes. Classes are held at 9:45 a.m. and generally presented in four-week mini-courses in each of several curriculum areas, including:
Our faculty includes outstanding professors with local seminaries, colleges and universities, public officials, topical experts and dedicated members of our own congregation. Class settings provide an intimate opportunity to interact with presenters and fellow members – or simply to sit, listen and learn.
Men’s Bible Fellowship
Wednesday 8:00am
Men’s Bible Fellowship is a small group of men who meet every Wednesday morning at 8:00 a.m. for one hour to discuss Scripture readings of the upcoming Sunday service. Using Scripture lessons from the Lectionary for the Lord’s Day, members of the group take turns providing leadership for the discussion. The atmosphere is informal and each member of the group is actively involved. The leader for the day also serves as host, providing orange juice and pastry for all. The church provides coffee. Join us!
Women’s Study Group
Tuesday 1:30pm
The Women’s Study Group meets on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. to discuss material read during the week. The purpose is to grow and push individual boundaries of understanding. Two or three salad luncheons a year are planned. The group’s focus is serious, but their laughter is spontaneous, frequent and very much a part of who they are. New members are always welcome.
Women’s Book Discussion Group
Second Monday of the month 1:00pm
The Women’s Book Discussion Group meets on the second Monday of each month at 1:00 p.m. for lively discussion of selected books and materials. All women of the church are invited to attend. Contact the Women’s Association for the current month’s selection.
Growth Groups
Growth Groups bring persons together around common interests or needs and provide communities of learning, support, spiritual growth, and mission. Groups of four to twelve people covenant to meet weekly for a period of time (usually eight to twelve weeks at a time). A group’s primary activity may include prayer, Bible study, discussion and study of particular issues, support, outreach, or mission.
For more information on any of the above, please contact the church office by phone (314-993-4771) or through our convenient online form.
