Mission and Vision

Church Mission for Children and Youth

Our mission is for youth to experience God’s love and grace, to follow the teachings of  Jesus Christ, to build positive and fullfilling relationships with peers, with the church, with members of the congregation, with family members, and with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  This is accomplished by encouraging and supporting our youth to participate in all aspects of church life, including worship, music, fellowship, Christian education, mission work, stewardship, and to actively participate  in volunteer opportunites in the church.

Purpose and vision of youth fellowship

Youth fellowship provides a unique opportunity to develop life-long friendships, while actively practicing the teachings of Christ. Youth fellowship reinforces the importance of people skills and spiritual connections throughout  life. Ladue Chapel’s youth program is designed to develop self-esteem, respect, trust, reverence, social skills, and the ability to appreciate, give and receive gifts to and from God and humanity.

Our vision is that all youth at Ladue Chapel will develop and maintain an ongoing interaction and commitment to the church, and to God and Jesus Christ; a commitment that fulfills the purpose of youth fellowship.

Charge for the Director of Youth Fellowship

To develop and grow a comprehensive and effective youth fellowship program with the help of the Youth Fellowship Committee, volunteers from the church and a team which includes the director of music ministry, the director of education for children and youth and one of the associate pastors.

Key theological issues of the church that are reflected in youth fellowship

Ladue Chapel is a theologically diverse congregation. We find strength in this diversity, and we have been able to grow and maintain a spirt of love and respect for eath other’s views. We believe that lifelong learning is basic to Christian faith. We believe the chuch is the first place of worship, providing opportunities for traditional worship, listening to God’s word, affirming our faith, confessing our sins, and expressing our gratitude through song and with our gifts and pledges to the church. We believe that mission is faith in action. We are comitted to programs that make a difference in people’s lives on behalf of Christ. We support community endeavors, including the food bank, Hosea House, disaster relief assistance, building for Habitat for Humanity, and participating in the annual Crop Walk. We provide a summer  mission internship program for our youth. Our youth also participate in summer mission trips, tutor underpriviledged kids at Hosea House, collect gifts for kids in need at Christmas, and proved Thanksgiving meals for families who have very little food.
